MUPIROCIN

Do not use Mupirocin cream if you are allergic to any ingredient in Mupirocin cream. Call your doctor immediately if this applies to you.

Most common side effects of this drug may include:

• Mild burning or stinging in the injection site.

If the symptoms persist or worsen, tell your doctor immediately. If you have experienced other symptoms while using this drug, seek medical help promptly.

This medication may rarely cause a severe intestinal condition (Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea) due to a type of resistant bacteria. This condition may occur during treatment or weeks to months after treatment have stopped.

Tell your doctor right away if you develop:

• Diarrhea that doesn’t stop
• Abdominal or Stomach Pain/Cramping, Blood/Mucus in your Stool

Precautions

Before using Mupirocin, tell your doctor or pharmacist:

• • If you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies
  • Your medical history, especially of kidney disease (if you are using a brand of Mupirocin that contains polyethylene glycol)

• Pregnant or breastfeeding

Interactions

Some medicines may interact with mupirocin cream. Ask your health care provider if mupirocin cream may interact with other medicines that you are taking including prescription, non-prescription and herbal medicines.

Call emergency hotline if someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing.
