MICRODERMABRASION

MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive technique used to refresh the overall color and appearance of the skin. It can enhance the appearance of sun exposure, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related issues and conditions.

A special applicator with an abrasive surface is used in the procedure to gently sand the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.

To produce the same impact as the abrasive base, a special microdermabrasion process sprays fine aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate particles with a vacuum/suction.

Microdermabrasion is considered a healthy treatment for certain skin types and colours. People can opt to take the procedure if they have the following skin concerns:

  • Hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne and acne scars
  • Sun damage
  • Melasma
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Dull-looking skin complexion
  • Stretch marks
  • Enlarged pores and blackheads

TYPES

Crystal microdermabrasion. A crystal-emitting handpiece is used by Crystal Microdermabrasion to gently spray fine crystals to remove the skin’s outer layers. Like a diamond-tip handpiece, dead skin cells are suctioned automatically.

The various kinds of crystals that can be used include aluminum oxide and sodium bicarbonate.

Diamond-tip handpiece. A diamond-tip handpiece is designed to gently exfoliate dead cells in the scalp. About the same time, they’ll be sucked off instantly.

The depth of the abrasion may be influenced by the pressure applied to the handpiece and by the amount of time the suction is allowed to stay on the surface. This type of microdermabrasion applicator is typically used in more vulnerable facial regions, such as near to the eyes.

Hydradermabrasion. Hydradermabrasion is a newer technique. It requires the combination of simultaneous dermal infusion of ingredients and crystal-free exfoliation. The whole process promotes the development of collagen and maximizes the flow of blood to your skin.

TREATMENT

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, minimally invasive technique. There is very little you need to do before the treatment.

It’s a wise decision to speak to a skin care specialist about your skin issues to figure out if microdermabrasion is right for you. Discuss all previous surgical operations and surgeries as well as allergies and medical problems.

You could be advised to avoid exposure to sunshine, tanning creams, and waxing for around a week before treatment. You will also be advised to avoid using exfoliating creams and masks roughly three days before treatment.

Remove all makeup and scrub your face before the treatment starts.
