Lisinopril + Hydrochlorothiazide is a combination drug made up of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide.
Lisinopril competitively inhibits ACE from converting angiotensin I to angiotensin II, resulting in expanded plasma renin activity and decreased aldosterone secretion and causing diminished BP and sodium and water retention. Hydrochlorothiazide increases renal discharge of sodium and chloride and diminishes cardiac load. The two medications have a synergistic effect in the management of hypertension.
