LEDIPASVIR SOFOSBUVIR

Ledipasvir Sofosbuvir tablet is a combination drug that is composed of ledipasvir and sofosbuvir. These are immediate -acting antiviral medicines against the hepatitis C infection

This drug is used to treat chronic hepatitis C infection, a viral disease of the liver. It may be used with another antiviral medicine called ribavirin. These medications work by diminishing hepatitis C infection in your body, and enables your immune system to battle against the infection, further making your liver recover. Hepatitis C infection can lead to (cirrhosis, or liver cancer.

Ledipasvir Sofosbuvir is used for the treatment of Hepatitis C virus infection.

Do not give Ledipasvir Sofosbuvir to patients with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the drugs

Ledipasvir Sofosbuvir may have the following side effects:

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Co-administration with amiodarone
  • Patients taking beta-blockers
  • Heart disease
  • Advanced liver disease
  • Concomitant use of P-gp inducers, such as rifampin and John’s wort
  • Severe kidney impairment
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation
  • Children

Interactions

Ledipasvir Sofosbuvir may interact with the following medicines:

  • Amiodarone
  • Ritonavir
  • Cyclosporine
  • Darunavir
  • Methadone
  • Oral contraceptives
