Lauromacrogol 400

Lauromacrogol 400 or polidocanol is a mixture of monolauril ethers of macrogols. It has been used as a sclerosing agent intended for  the treatment of esophageal and gastric varices and varicose veins such as uncomplicated spider and reticular veins in the lower extremities. In topical preparations, it is used as a local anesthetic and has antipruritic properties.
