Lactoferrin is a type of protein that binds to iron. It has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. Lactoferrin upgrades the body’s natural defense system to help it battle against microbes, as well as diminish sebum formation in the skin and irritation. It also helps in the healing of damaged skin cells. It also helps maintain skin moisture to prevent skin dryness and delay skin aging.

Lactoferrin is used in the treatment and prevention of acne in adults.

Do not give Lactoferrin to people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivityto any of its components

Do not use more than the recommended dose unless recommended by a doctor. If any undesirable effect occurs, discontinue use and consult a doctor


Lactoferrin may interact with the following medicines:

  • Vitamin E
  • Enhanced anticoagulant response with warfarin
  • Orlistat
  • Cholestyramine
  • Colestipol
  • Penicillamine
  • Phosphorus-containing prep
  • Tetracyclines
