LACTIC ACID + SALICYLIC ACID

Lactic acid + salicylic acid is a medicine that is applied to the skin as a liquid or a gel. It is made up of two compounds: lactic acid and salicylic acid. Lactic acid is an organic compound that is water soluble and has a hydroxyl group that is attached to a carboxyl group. It is classified as an alpha-hydroxy acid that can effectively cleanse the skin.

Salicylic acid is a keratolytic compound that increases moisture in the skin while also dissolving clumps of skin. It permits the shedding of excess skin cells.

This medication is used to treat skin and foot warts.

Lactic acid + salicylic acid is used in the following conditions:

  • Common skin and foot (plantar) warts
  • Corns and calluses

Do not give Iron + sucrose to those who have hypersensitivities to it.

Do not use Lactic acid + salicylic acid on the following:

  • Warts on the face or on moles, birthmarks
  • Warts with hair growing from them
  • Genital or anal warts
  • Those with hypersensitivity to lactic acid or salicylic acid, or to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS)

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

Lactic acid + salicylic acid may interact with the following medicines:

  • Other products used on the treated skin
