Iron Isomaltoside 1000

Iron isomaltoside 1000 is a colloid with strongly bound iron in spheroidal iron-carbohydrate particles. Iron binds to available proteins to form hemosiderin or ferritin, thereby replenishing Hb and depleted iron stores. Iron is essential to the synthesis of hemoglobin to maintain oxygen transport and to the function and formation of the physiologically important heme and non-heme compounds.
