HYDROXYPROPYL METHYCELLULOSE

Hydroxypropyl methycellulose is a drug that synergistically uses tears in the eyes to create a layer on the corneas surface. It improves dry eyes by perfectly blending with the tears in the corneal surface. It is used to moisturize the eyes.

Hydroxypropyl methycellulose is used in the following:

  • Relief of various ocular irritation syndromes (dry eyes)

Do not give hydroxypropyl methycellulose to people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity to the drug

 

Hydroxypropyl methycellulose may have the following side effects:

  • Local irritation
  • Iritis
  • Corneal edema

There are no known precautions with Hydroxypropyl methycellulose

Interactions
