FLUOCORTOLONE

Fluocortolone is a glucocorticoid that possesses an anti-inflammatory effect used for the treatment of various skin conditions.

Use this medication precisely as recommended by your physician. Follow the prescription of your doctor carefully. 

The medication dose your physician has given is based on your condition, other medications or food supplements you may take, and your reaction to treatment. Do not use Fluocortolone in people with the following conditions:

  • Systemic infection
  • Widespread plaque psoriasis
  • Untreated fungal or viral skin lesions
  • Infants <1 yr. 
  • Perioral dermatitis and acne vulgaris

Fluocortolone may have the following side effects:

  • Severe pituitary-adrenal-axis suppression
  • Cushing’s syndrome
  • Worsening of untreated infections
  • Thinning of the skin
  • Irreversible striae atrophicae and telangiectasia
  • Dermatitis
  • Acne
  • Mild depigmentation
  • Atrophy
  • Potentially Fatal: Hypersensitivity

Keep in mind that your physician has recommended this drug since he or she has known that the advantage to you is more noteworthy than the risk of adverse reactions. Many individuals utilizing this medicine don’t have serious side effects.  

A serious allergy to this medication is uncommon. In any case, seek emergency medical help if you see any manifestations of a serious allergic response, including a rash, tingling or swelling particularly of the face or tongue or throat, dizziness or difficulty in breathing.

  • Severe affective disorders
  • Epilepsy
  • Peptic ulcer
  • Hypothyroidism
  • History of steroid myopathy
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation

Interactions

Fluocortolone may interact with the following medicines:

  • Abametapir
  • Abatacept
  • Acalabrutinib
  • Acarbose
  • Aceclofenac
