FIBERTOX

Fibertox is a supplement that contains a combination of herbs and fibers. This formulation is used to eliminate toxins in the body. It is composed of Licorice extracts, psyllium fiber, okra extracts, hibiscus extract, Senna extract and aloe. This supplement leads to absorption of water in the stomach and intestines to form a mass of mucin that increases stool bulk thus leading to bowel movement.

Fibertox is used as a supplement for the following:

Do not give Fibertox if with the following problems:

  • Pre-existing fecal impaction
  • Intestinal blockage
  • Natural or drug-induced reduction of gut motility
  • Colonic atony like senile mega colon

Fibetox may have the following side effects:

  • Abdominal distension
  • Flatulence
  • Gastrointestinal impaction
  • Gastrointestinal obstruction
  • Hypersensitivity reactions like rhinitis
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Bronchospasm and anaphylaxis
  • Skin symptoms including rashes and itching

Precautions

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Patients with difficulty swallowing
  • Children

Interactions

Fibertox may interact with the following medicines:    

  • Cardiac glycosides
  • Coumarin derivatives
  • Lithium, or vitamin B12
  • Minerals including calcium, iron or zinc

If you think you have used Fibetox more than the usual dosage, please seek medical help immediately.

Symptoms of overdose include the following.

  • Abdominal discomfort
  • Flatulence
