FERROUS FOLIC B COMPLEX

Ferrous Folic B Complex is a multivitamin made up of ferrous (iron), folic acid and vitamin B complex.

Iron plays a major role in formation of red blood cells. It is found in two heme proteins namely hemoglobin and myoglobin. Hemoglobin is responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood.

Thiamine mononitrate or Vitamin B1 is important for carbohydrate metabolism and also helps in nerve transmission and formation of blood cells. Vitamin B6, chemically referred as Pyridoxine facilitates metabolism. It will be converted to pyridoxamine phosphate (PMP) and pyridoxal phosphate (PLP). These two active forms of Vitamin B6 promote numerous enzymatic reactions. It also helps in formation of neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and epinephrine.

Cyanocobalamin, commonly called as Vitamin B12, is responsible for metabolizing folate. It plays a major role in the formation of myelin that covers various nerve fibers. Vitamin B12 deficiency will cause progressive demyelination which will result in many neurological problems.
