ETAMSYLATE

Etamsylate is a hemostatic drug that acts to stop hemorrhage within small blood vessels. It acts to stabilize the capillary walls and correct abnormal platelet adhesion.

Etamsylate is used in the treatment of excessive menstrual bleeding and to control bleeding during surgeries.

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Porphyria
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation

Etamsylate may have the following side effects:

  • Headache
  • Skin rash
  • Nausea
  • Transient hypotension

Take extra caution in patients with the following medines:

  • Allergic to any of its components
  • Porphyria
  • Bronchial asthma
  • Proven hypersensitivity to sulphites
  • Uterine fibroids
  • History of coeliac disease
