ENBUCRILATE

Enbucrilate is used as a cartilage adhesive in augmentation rhinoplasty and it is a cyanoacrylate compound that has been used as surgical tissue adhesive. It is able to bond with cartilage instantaneously and with good reliability, thus improving the ability to augment the nose during cosmetic and reconstructive rhinoplasty.

It is also known as butyl cyanoacrylate and is insoluble in water.

Uses

The medical uses of enbucrilate are listed below:

In treating arteriovenous malformations by applying glue into the deformity via angiography
In treating bleeding gastric varices. These are dilated veins that form as a result of liver cirrhosis of the splenic vein.
To remove gastric varices

Warnings

Do not give Enbucrilate to people with the following conditions:

Allergies to butyl cyanoacrylate
Diabetes
Hypertension
Pregnant or breastfeeding woman

Side Effects

Inflammation on the application site may occur. A side effect of a drug does not only vary from drug to drug, but it also depends on the dose of the drug you take. Do not forget to share with your healthcare practitioner if you feel any side effect that troubles you.

Precautions

Take extra precautions in people with asthma and irritant dermatitis.
