ECLAMPSIA PREGNANCY

ECLAMPSIA

Eclampsia pregnancy is a severe complication of preeclampsia. It is an unusual yet intense condition in which high blood pressure outturn into a breakdown throughout the pregnancy period. Seizures are times of disrupted activity in the brain that can result in convulsions and reduce wakefulness.

Eclampsia frequently goes after preeclampsia, which is identified by high blood transpiring in pregnancy and, seldom, postnatal. Some discoveries may also exist through the protein seen in the urine. If these become severe and influence your brain, it may lead to seizures.

Medical professionals don’t know the exact cause of preeclampsia, still it is believed to be the outcome of unusual development of the arachnoid membrane.

  • High Blood Pressure

Preeclampsia occurs when your BP becomes high, and it destroys the arteries and blood vessels in your body. The destruction may limit the blood flow in your body, to your baby and to your brain.

  • Proteinuria

Preeclampsia mainly affects the function of our kidneys. One of the usual signs of preeclampsia is the protein found in your urine.

SYMPTOMS

The symptoms of preeclampsia depend if you have an existing condition like diabetes. It is essential to talk to your doctor about any current needs to know the leading cause. These are the usual symptoms:

  • Raised blood pressure
  • Headaches
  • Swelling of your hands and face
  • Weight gain
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Vision issues
  • Abdominal issues
  • Trouble in urinating

Individuals with eclampsia may have similar symptoms above. The following are the usual symptoms:

  • Anxiety
  • Seizures
  • Loss of awareness

DIAGNOSIS

If you are diagnosed with eclampsia, or you have it from the past, your doctor may request a test to identify if your eclampsia pregnancy has occurred again or gets more serious. And if you don’t have a history before, your doctor may order a test to determine the reason for your seizures. The test includes the following:

  • Urine test
  • Blood test
  • Creatinine test

TREATMENT

One of the suggested treatments for eclampsia is delivering your child. Your doctor may consider the seriousness of the condition and how full-grown your baby is when recommending a delivery.

If you’ve been diagnosed with eclampsia, your doctor may observe you and give you medications to fight it from becoming severe. Treatment will help to maintain your blood pressure level until you deliver your baby safe and healthy.
