Early menopause, also known as premature menopause, is when menopause happens before the age of 40. One reason for early menopause is premature ovarian failure.

Different reasons for early menopause include injury to the ovaries by chemotherapy as well as radiation treatments, or surgery of the ovaries.

Complications that are brought about by early menopause include infertility and an expanded risk for osteoporosis.

Other rare causes that may prompt early menopause include medications, chronic illnesses, pituitary and hypothalamic tumors, psychiatric problems, and other moderately uncommon or indistinct conditions.

Women may have diverse signs or symptoms at menopause. That is  because estrogen is utilized by numerous parts of your body. As you have less estrogen, you could have different symptoms. Here are some of them:

There are no special tests that can detect the absence of menstrual periods, however women may start having symptoms of menopause and irregular menstrual periods. By then, they might be tested for their ovarian function. For instance, tests might be done to eclude pregnancy or different reasons for missed monthly periods, for example, certain thyroid problems.

The level of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is frequently estimated in the blood to decide if a woman is nearing menopause and to find out the status of her ovaries.
