Description: Dutasteride is a selective inhibitor of steroid 5α-reductase resulting to inhibition of the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone and markedly suppresses serum dihydrotestosterone levels.

This medication is used in men to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH) by reducing the size of the enlarged prostate.
