DEXLANSOPRAZOLE

Dexlansoprazole is a medicine that is used to treat gastrointestinal problems such as heartburn. It works by diminishing acid that is secreted by your stomach. It eases symptoms of acid reflux, difficulty in swallowing, and dry cough. This medicine can enhance healing of the stomach and throat, prevent peptic ulcers, and prevent cancers of the throat. Dexlansoprazole is a medicine that belongs to a class of drugs that are known as proton pump inhibitors.

Do not give Dexlansoprazole to people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity to dexlansoprazole
  • Concomitant use with rilpivirine
  • Severe liver impairment

  • Arrhythmia
  • Bradycardia
  • Edema
  • Heart attack
  • Palpitation
  • Tachycardia
  • Deep venous thrombosis
  • Hot flush
  • Hypertension
  • Anal discomfort
  • Flatulence

  • Gastric cancer
  • Liver impairment

  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation

Interactions

Dexlansoprazole may interact with the following medicines:

  • Clopidogrel
  • Atazanavir
  • Nelfinavir
  • Ketoconazole
  • Digoxin

  • Seizures
  • Dizziness
  • Abnormal or fast heartbeat
  • Jerking movements or shaking (tremors)
  • Muscle weakness
  • Spasms of the hands and feet
  • Cramps or muscle aches
  • Spasm of the voice box
