DATE RAPE DRUGS

DATE RAPE DRUGS

Substances that make it possible for someone to harass or sexually abuse someone is called date rape drugs. Alcohol and other drugs are also used to this agenda. The targeted person may become confused, have difficulty defending themselves, or may not be able to recall what happened afterward.

“Date rape” doesn’t necessarily always happen on dates only. Someone you’ve recently met or someone you’ve known for a while might be an attacker.

TYPES

To overpower someone else or allow them to forget an incident, an attacker or abuser may use several kinds of drugs or narcotics.

Common types of date-rape drugs:

  • GHB-GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid). It is a depressant with many nicknames: easy lay, homeboy of Georgia, liquid X, liquid ecstasy, liquid E, grievous body injury, Gib, G-riffic, scoop, soap, salty water, or organic Quaalude. Often, physicians recommend it for the treatment of a sleep condition called narcolepsy. A solvent that may be combined with other liquids is typically GHB. It comes as a powder as well. Neither type has a taste or a scent.
  • Rohypnol the Rohypnol (flunitrazepam). It is a potent benzodiazepine, also known as Mexican Valium, rings, roofies, la rocha, roche, R2, rope, and forget-me pill, (a type of tranquilizers). It is not legally recognized in the United States. In other nations, during surgery, physicians often use it as anesthesia. Rohypnol used to come in the shape of a white tablet that had no scent or flavor. It is now manufactured by drug makers as a light green pill with a blue heart. The liquid turns blue if anyone places it in a transparent drink. The blue dye could not appear in some generic tablets.
  • Ketamine. It is the psychedelic or dissociative drug that makes you feel removed from reality. Vitamin K, special K, and cat valium are among her nicknames. It is used as anesthesia for physicians and veterinarians. Researchers are studying it for potential clinical trials in adults that are suffering from extreme depression. It is a transparent substance that is sometimes injected or an off-white powder. You can’t taste or smell it.
  • One of the three substances is often used along with alcohol by many attackers. It can enhance the effects of the drug. Yet alcohol may also leave someone vulnerable to abusers or protecting themselves on their own, understanding what’s going on with them, or recalling it later.
