Daisamox is a semisynthetic aminopenicillin that inhibits the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis in bacterial cell walls by binding to 1 or more of the penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), thereby inhibiting cell wall biosynthesis and causing eventual bacterial lysis.
