TREATMENT
Most people with idiopathic edema may encounter a decrease in swelling and fluid retention with a low sodium, low sugar diet. For people already taking diuretics, a brief discontinuation may result in symptom improvement as well. People who don’t improve with early treatment might be hard to treat; in any case, different treatments, for example, utilization of hypertension prescriptions (ACE inhibitors) have demonstrated benefits in some cases.
