CICLODAN

Ciclodan kit 8% topical consists of a synthetic antifungal agent, ciclopirox. It is meant for topical use on fingernails and toenails and without affecting adjacent skin.

This medication is used to deal with fungal infections of the fingernails and toenails. Ciclopirox works by stopping the growth of fungus.

Uses

This medicine is likewise used to deal with skin infections referred to as pityriasis (tinea versicolor), a fungal infection that causes lightening or darkening of the skin of the neck, chest, arms, or legs. Ciclopirox is an antifungal medicinal drug that works by stopping the growth of fungus.

Warnings

Ciclopirox Topical Solution, 8%, is not for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal use. It is for use on nails and on adjacent skin only.

Side Effects

Redness or burning of skin or modifications in shape or coloration of nail
Blistering, swelling or oozing at the site
A very severe allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate help in case you notice any signs of severe hypersensitivity such as rash, itching, swelling, excessive dizziness, or difficulty in breathing

Precautions

Before using ciclopirox, inform your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, or when you have other hypersensitive reactions

Before using this medication, inform your physician or pharmacist your medical history, especially of diabetes, numbness in palms or feet (including diabetic neuropathy)

When pregnant, this medicine should be used cautiously. Discuss the risks and advantages with your health practitioner.

It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
