DIAGNOSIS
There’s no specific test for ADHD, but making a diagnosis will most likely include:
- Medical exam, to help know other possible reasons for the behavior
- Data gathering, for any present issues, individual and family history, and school records
- Meetings or question aires for relatives, child’s teachers or different people who understand your child well, like sitters and coaches
- ADHD criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders DSM-5, disseminated by the American Psychiatric Association
- ADHD rating scales to help assemble and survey information about your child
TREATMENT
These medicines can decrease symptoms of ADHD, yet they don’t treat it.
Stimulant medicines
At present, stimulant medicines (psycho-stimulants) are the most commonly embraced prescriptions for ADHD.
These include:
Methylphenidates
