CETYL ALCOHOL + STEARYL ALCOHOL

Cetyl alcohol + stearyl alcohol is a skin treatment that is utilized as a moisturizer to treat or prevent dry skin and minor skin disturbances such as diaper rash, and skin burns. Emollients are substances that relax and saturate the skin and reduce itchiness and flaking.

Dry skin is brought about by lost water in the upper layer of the skin. Emollients or creams work by creating a slick layer on the highest point of the skin that traps water in the skin.

Cetyl alcohol + stearyl alcohol is used in the following:

  • In personal care products like skin lotions and creams
  • As a thickening agent and emulsifier
  • To help keep product ingredients from separating

Do not give Cetyl alcohol + stearyl alcohol to people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity
