CANDESARTAN + HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE

Candesartan + Hydrochlorothiazide is a prodrug of candesartan that inhibits the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting impacts of angiotensin II. It does this by specifically attaching to AT1 receptors.

Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic drug that acts on the first portion of the distal tubules. It enhances the discharge of sodium and chloride particles, and water, by decreasing electrolyte reabsorption from the kidney tubules.

Patient with aortic or mitral stenosis
Diabetes mellitus
Obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Severe congestive heart failure
Hypercalcaemia
Hypercholesterolaemia
Parathyroid disease
Renal artery stenosis
Primary hyperaldosteronism
Systemic lupus erythematosus
Mild to moderate hepatic and renal impairment

Interactions

Candesartan + Hydrochlorothiazide may interact with the following medicines:

Insulin or diabetes medicines that you take by mouth
