Precautions
Before taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist:
- If you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- If you have medical condition or taking other drugs that requires you to restrict your intake of Aspartame because this medication may contain Aspartame.
- Your medical history, especially of:
- Breathing Problems (e.g. Asthma, Emphysema)
- Diabetes
- A Certain Eye Problem (Glaucoma)
- Heart Problems
- High Blood Pressure
- Kidney Problems
- Liver Disease
- Seizures
- Stomach/Intestinal Problems (e.g. Ulcers, Blockage)
- Overactive Thyroid (Hyperthyroidism)
- Urination Problems
Older adults and children may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug, especially dizziness, drowsiness, mental or mood changes, constipation, fast heartbeat, trouble urinating, or blood pressure changes.
Interactions
Drug interactions may either lessen the effectiveness of this drug or heighten the risk for severe side effects. It’s important to inform your doctor all the medication including prescription and non-prescription and herbal medicines you are taking or going to take.
Possible interactions with this drug are:
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). MAOIs may increase the side effects of this drug and may even cause death.
Examples of MAOIs include:
- Selegiline
- Tranylcypromine
- Phenelzine
- Isocarboxazid
- Rasagiline
Anxiety drugs
Examples of anxiety drugs include:
- Lorazepam
- Clonazepam
- Diazepam
- Alprazolam
Insomnia drugs
Examples of these drugs include:
- Temazepam
- Estazolam
- Triazolam
- Zolpidem
- Eszopiclone
- Zaleplon
Blood pressure drugs
Examples of these blood pressure drugs include:
- Terazosin
- Doxazosin
- Metoprolol
- Carvedilol
- Atenolol
- Propranolol
