BETAMETHASONE + SALICYLIC ACID

Betamethasone + Salicylic Acid is a combination of drugs Betamethasone and Salicylic Acid. Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that treats inflammation of the skin while salicylic acid is a keratolytic that softens keratin and leads to skin desquamation.

Uses

Betamethasone + Salicylic Acid is used in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, hyperkeratosis of the skin and scaling of the skin.

Warnings

Viral skin infections example vaccinia, varicella and herpes simplex
Tuberculosis of the skin
Acne
Rosacea
Napkin eruptions
Fungal or bacterial skin infections without suitable concomitant anti-infective therapy
Perioral dermatitis
Ulcerative conditions
Perianal and genital pruritus

Irritation
Burning
Itching
Dryness
Folliculitis
Maceration of skin
Skin atrophy
Hypertrichosis
Acneiform eruptions
Secondary infection
Hypo pigmentation
Perioral dermatitis

Precautions

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

Absorption of corticosteroid through the skin is increased when used with occlusive dressings
Avoid long term continuous therapy
Children
Pregnancy
Lactation
