BETAMETHASONE + GENTAMICIN

Bivalirudin

Betamethasone + Gentamicin is a corticosteroid drug that has anti-inflammatory actions. Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside that has broad spectrum antibacterial properties. It can act against a wide range of pathogenic gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms.

Betamethasone + Gentamicin is utilized to treat hypersensitive or inflammatory skin rashes, for example, dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis that have concomitant infections.

This medicine should not be utilized after evacuation of a corneal foreign body or if there are viral infections of the skin.

Betamethasone + Gentamicin  may have the following side effects:

  • Increased ocular pressure
  • Increased ocular hyperemia
  • Edema
  • Burning sensation
  • Ototoxicity

Precautions

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Patient with history of herpetic infection of the cornea
  • Children less than 8 years of age
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation

 

Interactions

Betamethasone + Gentamicin may interact with the following medications:

  • Topical Corticosteroids

Topical Antibiotics

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
