HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS 9-VALENT VACCINE

BESIFLOXACIN

Besifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial drug that acts by repressing DNA synthesis in bacteria through inhibiting topoisomerase IV, a fundamental enzyme during bacterial cell division. It also inhibits DNA gyrase that is basic for bacterial growth.

Besifloxacin ophthalmic is used to treat some infections of the eye, such as bacterial conjunctivitis. This medication belongs to a group of medicines called fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It works by eliminating bacteria that cause conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis that is caused by bacteria or viruses is infectious. The infection starts to spread after two weeks. Red, itchy and irritated eyes, eye pain, headache, and blurred vision are the signs that you may have an eye infection.

Avoid wearing contact lenses while using this medication. But if wearing contact lenses are necessary, you can wear them 15 minutes after applying the medication. Follow your doctor’s advice for the best results.

Medical attention should be given if there are allergic reactions, hives, breathing difficulties, or swelling of the lips, face, tongue or throat. However, the most common side effect of besifloxacin is eye redness. Other side effects that can be seen are a feeling of something in your eyes, fever or signs of a new infection, drainage or crusting of your eyes, or serious eye irritation after using the eye drops. Severe eye redness or swelling may also occur. If this happens, consult a doctor for treatment.

To avoid eye infections, avoid rubbing your eyes, do not share your cosmetics with others, avoid wearing contacts overnight, and change your contact lenses after its expiration. Make sure that your hands are clean before touching your eyes, and maintain good hygiene.

The effect of medicines can change if you take other medicines or herbal products. To help your doctor and pharmacist, talk to them about all medicines that you’re taking, even those without a prescription.
