BENZOXONIUM CHLORIDE

Benzoxonium chloride is a drug that is known as a quaternary ammonium antiseptic. It is being used for the disinfection of skin, mucous membranes and instruments.

Benzoxonium chloride lozenges are used in the treatment of mouth and throat infections.

Benzoxonium chloride should not be used in those who are allergic to benzyl and other similar compounds. After taking Benzoxonium chloride, patients should remain upright for at least 30 minutes.

There is no available data regarding side effects of Benzoxonium chloride.

Precautions

Take extra caution in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not give Benzoxonium chloride to children without a doctor’s advice.

 

Interactions

There are no known interactions with Benzoxonium chloride.
