ALIZAPRIDE

Bivalirudin

Alizapride is a medicine belonging to a class of drugs known as methoxybenzamides. It is structurally related to the drug metoclopramide. It is a dopamine antagonist that is used to treat vomiting.

Alizapride is used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting.

Alizapride should not be given to patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Pheochromocytoma
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Conditions where activation of gastrointestinal motility is contraindicated, like gastrointestinal perforation or sub-occlusion

Alizapride may have the following side effects:

  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Diarrhea
  • Extrapyramidal symptoms
  • Amenorrhea
  • Galactorrhea

Precautions

Special precautions should be observed in people with kidney disease.

This medicine may impair ability to drive or operate machinery.

Interactions

Alizapride may interact with alcohol.

If you think you may have used Alizapride more than the usual dose, seek medical help immediately.
