Albendazole is used to treat certain tapeworm infections and other worm infections.
How to use albendazole
Take Albendazole by mouth with meals. Small children may take the tablets crushed for ease. Follow correct dosage and prescription, and finish medication even if symptoms disappear after a few days.
Grapefruit may increase the side effects of the medication so avoid drinking grapefruit when taking Albendazole.
Common side effects are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, or temporary hair loss may occur.
Serious side effects, including: vision changes, yellowing eyes/skin, severe stomach/abdominal pain, dark urine, unusual tiredness, easy bruising/bleeding, signs of infection (e.g., fever, persistent sore throat), change in the amount of urine, severe/persistent headache, seizures, confusion, very stiff neck.

Precautions
Inform your doctor or pharmacist your allergies, medical history, especially especially of: liver disease, biliary tract problems (e.g., blockage), blood/bone marrow disorders.

The medication may cause harm to a fetus. For pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, consult your doctor before use.

Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately. Get emergency medical help when overdose is suspected.
Missed Dose: As soon as you remember, take a regular dose or if the time of the next dose is near, wait for it before taking another dose and resume your usual schedule. Do not increase the dose to compensate for the missed dose.
