ADAPALENE

Adapalene belongs to a class of medications called retinoids that works by decreasing swelling and inflammation. It also affect the growth of cells which makes it best to treat acne pimples and prevent outbreaks in the face.

This medication is used to treat acne. It may decrease the number and severity of acne as well as speed the healing of pimple scars.

Adapalene may trigger allergic reaction to people with hypersensitive skin.

This medicine may have minor side effects such as:

  • Redness
  • Dry skin
  • Burning

Notify your doctor promptly if any of these symptoms persist or worsen.

Severe side effects due to allergic reaction like difficulty in breathing or severe swelling may need immediate medical attention.

Precautions

Before taking this drug, tell your doctor or pharmacist:

  • If you are allergic to it or if you have any other allergies.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking herbal, prescription and non-prescription drugs.
  • If you have certain medical conditions.

Drug interactions may either lessen the effectiveness of this drug or heighten the risk for severe side effects. It’s important to inform your doctor all the medication including prescription and non-prescription and herbal medicines you are taking or going to take.

Call emergency hotline if someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing.
